PART ONE:

Video for everyone! Harnessing open standards to deliver video content in Flash & HTML.

We’re very fortunate that Paul Ortchanian has agreed to give some perspective on the Flash vs HTML5 debate. He’ll give a brief history on HTML5 and explain how Flash and HTML5 can co-exist happily.

Paul is a Flash technologist and Creative mind. He is is alum of the Banff Centre for the Arts, Interactive Media Team and completed a New Media residency at Benetton’s FABRICA – Center in the Arts and Communications, in Italy. He moved to San Francisco in 2005 to work at Goodby Silverstein and Partners. He currently works at Blast Radius as a Technical Experience Director in San Francisco.

PART TWO:

Paul Betlem, Sr. Director of Engineering for the Flash Player, will be discussing Flash Player 10.1 and the upcoming Gala release which introduces support for H.264 video hardware decoding on Mac OS X 10.6.3. He’ll also discuss some of the new innovative video capabilities in Flash Player 10.1 and give some insights to video features that Adobe is working on for inclusion in a future release.

Paul Betlem has worked at Adobe for the past 10 years and has led the Flash Player agenda for the past 8 years. This role offers him the unique opportunity to work on a core technology that enables the Flash developer and designer community to share their creative endeavors with millions of people across the web.
