Presentation: Augmented reality, Motion detection and Face tracking with Eric Socolofsky

With the advent and wide adoption of AS3, and increasing ubiquity of webcams, computer vision in a browser is finally starting to become a reality. We’ll take a look at some of the new developments in computer vision with Flash, including a brief overview of motion detection and face tracking, and an in-depth look at marker tracking with FLARToolkit and FLARManager.

Show-Tell-and-Win

This month our raffle gets competitive with a show-and-tell of your work. All members will have the opportunity to show a project they have worked or contributed on to the group. The group will then vote of their favorite project and the winner will be announced at the end of the meet.

All projects/presentations must be online or stored on external storage (such as a thumb drive, CD or DVD). Switching laptops for every showing is not an option as it’s too time consuming. The presentation laptop will be a current generation MacBook. The alloted time per presentations shall vary depending on demand and content.
